As Promised
Promised to post some interesting previously-unpublished photos from our trip... so here they are! The first is a shot of Steve driving along a "road" from Fortuna to Tilaran. In fairness, the locals did say that the road was impassable... but we decided to take it anyway. The second shot is of a pretty little valley further up the "road", almost at Monteverde. I think I've read your entire site, but I don't recall a part where you detail motivations for your trip. How'd you guys decide to leave regular jobs and everything else behind? I think it's awesome, and you've certainly made a lot out of it.
Our motivations were varied... in the end it boiled down to a creeping sensation of not wanting to keep spinning our wheel in the rat race. We lived in a fantastic area- right by the beach with excellent weather... but we spent all our time thinking about being outside while cooped up in offices.
There is a lot more to it, but what it really came down to was wanting a higher quality of life.
